After the success of Mumbai’s first drive-in vaccination centre in Dadar, the Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai has given a go ahead for a drive-in centre in each zone in the city. All zonal deputy municipal commissioners have been directed to set up the facilities within the next 24 hours, as per a notice released on Thursday evening.

Where will the vaccination centres be located in Mumbai?

The drive-in vaccination centres will be set up in big open grounds. Here’s the list:

  • Andheri Sports Club Ground
  • Cooperage Ground
  • Shivaji Stadium (Dadar)
  • Oval Maidan (Churchgate)
  • Brabourne Stadium (Churchgate)
  • MIG Ground (Bandra)

Who can go to the vaccination centre?

These centres will allow only senior citizens above 60 who are seeking both doses of COVISHIELD strictly by appointment. The person to receive a shot should not self-drive and should be accompanied by an attendant or driver in each vehicle

To avoid traffic jams, the facilities should have single-lane barricades for manoeuvring vehicles. The centre must provide adequate mobile toilets and drinking water facilities, as per instructions.
