Candy Welch

RUMFORD – It is with great sadness that we say goodbye to our precious Candy Welch, 51. She passed away on Thursday May 6, 2021, at the Hospice House in Auburn.

Born in Rumford, on June 23, 1969 she was a daughter of David and Lorraine (Penley) Welch. Candy was a graduate of Dirigo High School in Dixfield and the Maine State Academy of Hair Design. She worked many years as a CNA at the Rumford Hospital and had many private duty jobs over the years. She most recently worked at St. Mary’s Hospital in Lewiston.

Her kind and upbeat demeanor brought joy to everyone she interacted with; she was always there for everyone and always willing to lend a helping hand.

Survivors include her mother Lorraine Welch of Dixfield, her son Brady Welch of Rumford, her longtime companion Bryce Hanington of Rumford, a sister Kim Smith of Topsham, brothers, Chris Welch of Dixfield and David Welch and wife Pam of Henderson, Colorado.

She was predeceased by her father, David Welch.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 4-8 p.m., on Saturday May 15, 2021 at the Meader & Son Funeral Home 3 Franklin St Rumford. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, masks will be required.
