Area roundup: St. Dom’s softball tops Sacopee Valley in high-scoring tilt


AUBURN — Bella Perryman hit a home run and St. Dom’s edged Sacopee Valley 13-12 in a high-scoring softball contest Tuesday.

Bella Webster added a double for the Saints (2-1), and pitcher Kathleen Dean threw 129 pitches.

The Hawks fall to 3-3.

MADISON 9, LISBON 0: Winning pitcher Brooke McKenney tripled and drove in three runs to lead the Bulldogs to the Mountain Valley Conference victory in Lisbon.

Landyn Landry also tripled and drove in a pair for Madison (6-1). Arabel Linkletter tripled for the victors as well.

McKenney struck out 17 and allowed just three hits.

Maria Levesque had two hits for Lisbon.

VALLEY SWEEPS RANGELEY: Cylee Pratt pitched five strong innings to lead the Cavaliers to a 13-1 victory in a doubleheader sweep against the Lakers.

Logan McDonald drove in four runs for the Cavs.

In the other game, a 17-9 Valley victory, Jada Ward drove in three runs and Madeline Hill pitched three strong innings. Bree Quimby, Bristol Quimby and Winnie LaRochelle each had multiple hits for the Lakers.

GIRLS LACROSSE
LEWISTON 17, GARDINER 4: Charlotte Gastonguay scored eight times and had three assists in the Blue Devils’ win over the Tigers in Lewiston.

Brie Dube and Ceci Miller each added three goals for Lewiston (3-1), while Rebecca Lussier scored twice and Shauna Leblanc also contributed a goal.

Lilly Diversi and Emma Bourgett each scored twice for Gardiner (2-3).

BASEBALL
SACOPEE VALLEY 16, ST. DOMINIC 1: Tristan Croteau drove in four runs on three hits to pace the Hawks (5-4) in their victory over the Saints (0-3) in Auburn.

Starter McGwire Sawyer threw a two-hitter, fanning five and walking one for Sacopee Valley.
