Lewis Tan is adding “romantic comedy star” to his resume. The Mortal Kombat actor will be accompanying Emma Roberts and Thomas Mann in About Fate.
Lewis Tan will appear alongside Emma Roberts and Thomas Mann in the upcoming romantic comedy, About Fate. Tan recently starred as Cole Young in the action film, Mortal Kombat, which just hit theaters and HBO Max in April. Tan is also known for his work in Wu Assassins, Into the Badlands, and Deadpool 2.
Tan will be departing from his typical action roles to join Roberts and Mann in About Fate, according to Deadline. The film will center around two main characters, both of whom believe in love, but they have yet to discover its real meaning. Fate brings the two together on New Year’s Eve, but that doesn’t mean it will be all smooth sailing from there. In true rom-com fashion, there will be plenty of obstacles for the characters to overcome but with humor sprinkled in throughout. Tan took to Instagram to share his excitement for joining this project. His post can be viewed below:
Tiffany Paulsen wrote the screenplay for About Fate. This isn’t the first time Paulsen and Roberts have been attached to the same film. Paulsen wrote the romantic comedy, Holidate, which starred Roberts in the leading role. Roberts also previously worked with Mann in the 2010 dramedy, It’s Kind of a Funny Story. Marius Weisberg will be directing Roberts, Mann, and now Tan in About Fate. Filming is set to begin this June in Boston, Massachusetts.
