Volunteer Mary Hopkins of Lewiston on Wednesday gives a shopper the details of the Hope House Outdoor Market in Lewiston. Businesses as well as friends and neighbors donate produce, meat, bakery goods and used clothing for the free market, which is held on the second and fourth Wednesday of each month from 10 a.m. to noon. Volunteers, like Hopkins, are needed said Jan Wilson, who along with her husband, Bruce, operate the Hope House. “I cannot stay in the house,” said Hopkins. “I could never ground my children while they were growing up because I would be grounding myself as well.” Hopkins volunteers on a regular basis at the Salvation Army, The Center for Wisdom’s Women and the Hope House.
