Jovi Shows Concern Over Yara’s Need to Control Mylah

Jovi Dufren is unhappy with Yara Zaya’s controlling nature after having baby Mylah on 90 Day Fiancé, but fans think he is the toxic one instead.

After 90 Day Fiancé star Jovi Dufren’s mom Gwen taught Yara Zaya how to be a better parent to baby Mylah, it’s now her husband who’s concerned with his Ukrainian wife’s controlling ways. Jovi and Yara returned to TLC via 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? season 6 after a long wait of two episodes. But the wait was worth it for fans who finally saw baby Mylah Angelina after being teased by Jovi and Yara with her photos on Instagram for countless days. However, being new parents is also adding strain on Jovi and Yara’s new marriage, with episode 4 showing the ROV supervisor calling his wife a “psycho” and “the definition” of a control freak.

Since 90 Day Fiancé season 8, falls have come full circle from mocking Jovi for his party-boy attitude to admiring him for his doting daddy one in 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? Fans feel that Jovi is now a changed man, having left his stripper past behind to give more time to his family. However, for fans, Yara still takes the upper hand, thanks to her sass and wit which is always on display both on and off-screen. Yara, who herself was called out earlier for constantly cribbing about life in America or threatening to go back, soon became a fan favorite. But could Jovi claiming Yara pulls the strings in their relationship change the way 90 Day Fiancé viewers see her?

On the latest episode of HEA season 6, Jovi asks Yara when they can go for their honeymoon. Given Jovi’s job that requires him to be away for two months at a time, the couple hasn’t even got the time for a getaway. But Yara insists that while she does want to go to Hawaii or Bahamas, she’s concerned about leaving Mylah behind with Jovi’s mom. Yara wishes to wait till Mylah is at least six months old till she leaves her alone, until Jovi and she could decide to go somewhere, but even that seems unlikely for the 90 Day Fiancé mom. The couple is later seen enjoying lunch by a pier as Yara fusses over Mylah feeling too hot in the sun, and Jovi advising her to put the baby back in the stroller.

Yara still doesn’t like the way Mylah’s feet are still in the sun, as her 90 Day Fiancé husband asks her if she feels a “little bit like a crazy mom.” Yara and Jovi do an encore of their bickering from season 8, disagreeing over Mylah, as the fashion businesswoman adds that while she loves him, things have changed since the baby was born. “Maybe there is a big difference between Ukrainian and American mom,” says Yara and confesses that for now she only cares about Mylah and not going to any trip or restaurant. Yara thinks that Jovi may not agree with her due to his partying lifestyle but she wishes for him to “be a great dad.

Meanwhile, Yara asks Jovi to leave lunch midway and go away since the sun seems to affect the little girl, making her skin sting. Clearly not happy, Jovi mentions that Yara has “never been more controlling of anything than since they’ve ad Mylah.” He adds that Yara shouldn’t be keeping Mylah “in a bubble” and wonders if getting married in a hurry has left them with many things they don’t know about each other. Fans, however, now think that 90 Day Fiancé star Yara is responsible, reasonable, and trying to be a good parent, while Jovi, who’d turned over a new leaf, might just revert to his old ways.
