The Nicole Kidman and Melissa McCarthy-led thriller series Nine Perfect Strangers will begin streaming on August 18, according to a new trailer.
Hulu’s Nine Perfect Strangers revealed its release date in a chilling new trailer. Adapted from Liane Moriarty’s bestselling novel of the same name, the limited series centers on nine strangers navigating a less-than-orthodox ten-day spa retreat. Nicole Kidman leads the show both on and offscreen, simultaneously starring as the intense retreat leader Masha and producing under her Blossom Films banner. She once again joined forces with her Big Little Lies and The Undoing showrunner David E. Kelley for the project.
Hulu offered a new glimpse of Kidman and her A-list castmates in a brand-new date announcement trailer on May 18. According to it, the highly-anticipated show is set to start streaming on August 18. Watch the full clip below:
The tense new promo highlights one scene from the series, showing the characters in some kind of wellness tent. As meditation bells chime, the camera cuts to closeups of the main cast, which includes Melissa McCarthy, Regina King, Michael Shannon, Luke Evans, Bobby Cannavale, Samara Weaving, Grace Van Patten, and Melvin Gregg. The final shot lingers on an ethereal entrance by Kidman herself, who officially welcomes her guests to her wellness retreat, Tranquillum House.
This marks the second official promo for Nine Perfect Strangers. Hulu got major eyes on the first trailer by dropping it during the 2021 Oscars telecast. Though the newest clip doesn’t bring much more to the table, it certainly amps up the show’s spine-tingling tone. An August release date should bode well for the series. After all, there’s nothing viewers love more than capping off their summer and creeping into fall by binge-watching a glossy thriller.
