The Owl House Renewed For Season 3 By Disney Channel

The Owl House gets renewed for a third season by Disney Channel ahead of the season 2 premiere, which is set to air on Saturday, June 12.

Disney Channel has renewed The Owl House for season 3 ahead of the show’s season 2 air date. As an animated fantasy-comedy series, the blend of genres is unique for a Disney Channel animated series. The Owl House stars Sarah-Nicole Robles as Luz, Wendie Malick as Eda, and Alex Hirsch as King, among other guest voice actors. The series was created and executive produced by Duck Tales animator, Dana Terrace.

In a rare move for any network or platform alike, Deadline confirms that Disney Channel renewed The Owl House for season 3 ahead of its season 2 premiere. This may be due to the series’ innovative storytelling and high ratings. The Owl House season 1 was deemed one of the top five animated series among kids and girls ages six through 12 for 2020. The series also received over 58 million views on Disney Channel YouTube.

However, it seems that there are unique plans for season 3. While season 2 will air episodes weekly, season 3 will have just three 40-minute episodes. Season 2 will premiere on Saturday, June 12 and run through August 14. The second season will pick up where season 1 left off at the gang’s confrontation with Emperor Belos. Eda and King will work to help Luz find her way back to the human realm.

The Owl House follows Luz, a self-assured teenage girl who stumbles upon a portal to a magical realm where she befriends a rebellious witch, Eda, and a tiny warrior, King. Despite not having magical abilities, Luz pursues her dream of becoming a witch by serving as Eda’s apprentice at the Owl House and ultimately finds a new family in an unlikely setting.
