My Adventures With Superman Series Coming To HBO Max & Cartoon Network

Warner Bros. announces a new kids & family DC animated series, My Adventures With Superman, has been ordered by HBO Max & Cartoon Network.

HBO Max and Cartoon Network have ordered a new kids & family animated series called, My Adventures With Superman. The first-ever animated television series centered on Superman dates way back to 1941 with cartoon shorts produced by Fleischer Studios. The most recent animated series starring the legendary hero came in 2006 with The CW’s Legion of Super Heroes

Now, Warner Bros. has announced that a brand-new Superman series is coming as HBO Max and Cartoon Network have ordered not one, but two, seasons of My Adventures With Superman. The upcoming series, produced by Warner Bros. Animation, will feature action, comedy, and romance as it follows the lives of the twenty-something versions of Clark Kent, Lois Lane, and their best friend Jimmy Olsen. Check out the synopsis and series art provided by Warner Bros. below:

In this serialized coming-of-age story, we follow Clark as he builds his secret Superman identity and embraces his role as the hero of Metropolis – and perhaps the world. Lois, now growing into a star investigative journalist, takes aspiring photographer Jimmy Olsen under her wing. All the while, Clark and Lois are falling in love, sharing adventures, taking down bad guys, stumbling over secrets, and discovering what it means to be Superman and Lois Lane.

The Boys star, Jack Quaid, will voice Clark Kent in the new series alongside Alice Lee (Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist) as the voice of Lois. Jake Wyatt (Invader Zim: Enter the Florpus) and Brendan Clogher (Voltron: Legendary Defender) are co-executive producers on the series, as well as, She-Ra and the Princesses of Power‘s Josie Campbell, who is co-producing. Additionally, President of Warner Bros. Animation and Cartoon Network Studios, Sam Register, will be serving as the executive producer. Register made a statement expressing his eagerness about the upcoming series, saying:

It’s been a great partnership working with Cartoon Network and HBO Max to bring more DC Super Heroes to the platform in new and creatively interesting ways. This is the first animated Superman series in many years and we want to tell our Superman story through the trio of Clark, Lois and Jimmy – whose relationship dynamic will allow for rich, serialized and engaging stories as we explore their lives as individuals and their journey together as friends.

Few specific details are available for the series currently, but it will be interesting to see exactly what kind of adventures are ahead for the young adult version of Superman. Since it has been quite a few years since the last animated Superman series was released, My Adventures With Superman is likely to succeed as it promises to be a fresh, modern, and relatable take on the classic hero.
