Juliette C. Bannister

LEWISTON – Juliette C. Bannister, 91, a long-time resident of Lewiston, died Tuesday, May 11, 2021 at D’Youville Pavilion. She was born in Lewiston on May 17, 1929, a daughter of the late Adelard and Alice (Bergeron) Landry. She was educated in local schools and graduated from the first co-ed class of St. Dominique’s in 1948. She was also their first prom queen. She married Adrien (Ben) Bannister on August 12, 1950 and they had six children together.Juliette was a former member of Holy Family Parish, and a member of the Ladies of Ste. Ann of Holy Family. She worked for several years at St. Mary’s Hospital, and after she retired, she volunteered there for several more years. Juliette was always there for her friends and neighbors whenever they needed help with anything. She was happiest when she was helping others. Juliette loved to cook and was known for many of her recipes. She also enjoyed going to the casino, going out to eat, traveling and talking on the phone with her sisters.Juliette is survived by her children, Donald and his wife Susan of Chesterville, Joline of Lewiston, Patricia and husband Richard Lewis of Wales, James and wife Rachel of Gorham and Steve and his wife Bonnie of Lewiston, a daughter-in-law Carrie Bannister of Sabattus; a sister Pauline Cashman and husband John of York; 18 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and many-many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents; husband Adrien; son Michael; and 14 brothers and sisters.The family would like to express our gratitude to D’Youville Pavillion (3 East) and to Beacon Hospice for the excellent care that they provided for Juliette.
