A Call of Duty: Warzone player managed to capture a hilarious clip of themselves trading sniper shots with another player from across the map.
A Call of Duty: Warzone player shared a clip of themselves trading sniper shots with someone else from across the map; the encounter ended on a pretty amusing note. The Warzone free-to-play title has successfully endured various peaks and valleys since its release in early 2020. It has the player count to prove it, too, recently reaching a player base of over 100 million users.
Warzone managed to achieve this milestone in the lead up to Season 3’s launch, which introduced a 1984 version of the Verdansk map in a nuke event. The Season 3 offerings also treated players to three new Operators, fresh Outbreak content, and six extra weapons. Now fans are gearing up for the rollout of Warzone’s and Black Ops Cold War‘s mid-season update containing the eagerly-anticipated 80s Action Heroes event. When the mid-season content arrives tomorrow, Call of Duty players will be able to get their hands on two Legendary Operators – Die Hard’s John McClane and Rambo. But a couple of players have already created some action movie shenanigans of their own.
Reddit user Elephantstudio recently shared a clip depicting their sniping match with another Call of Duty: Warzone player. In the quick video, the user who released the footage stands atop a building, sniping at an enemy from afar as they parachute onto a rooftop. The first player lets loose with a well-timed crossbow shot, dispatching their target with ease. They don’t get to revel in the glory for very long, however. Apparently, the second shooter also managed to let off of shot in the nick of time. Both Warzone players suffered killing blows within seconds of each other.
Simultaneous kills of this nature are nothing new in competitive multiplayer games. They’re usually frustrating for the players, though, while also proving to be good entertainment for onlookers who happen to witness the chaos as it unfolds.
Within a few days of its release last spring, Call of Duty: Warzone attracted 30 million players worldwide across all platforms. Its growth has yet to cease in the many months since then. As of this passed April, Warzone had logged a whopping 100 million users in total, further cementing Call of Duty as Activision’s crown jewel.
