Fox attacks woman, dogs in Rockland


ROCKLAND — A fox, suspected of being rabid, attacked a woman Wednesday evening in Rockland.

The fox attacked the woman May 19 after she tried to get the animal to stop attacking her dog. The attack occurred on Railroad Avenue, which is a short, dead-end street off of Luce Avenue near Broadway and Park streets.

Neighbors reported seeing a fox that looked sick during the day.

Earlier in the day, a fox attacked a dog on Luce Avenue.

Rockland police and the state warden service searched for the fox but have not yet been able to locate the animal.
