GTA Online Solo Cayo Perico Heist Player Uses Clever Shortcut

An inventive Grand Theft Auto Online player has used parkour to discover a clever new route into El Rubio’s island compound in the Cayo Perico heist

An inventive Grand Theft Auto Online player has discovered an alternate route into the Cayo Perico heist. The open-world online multiplayer title was launched back in 2013 alongside the single-player Grand Theft Auto V. Now, more than seven years later, Rockstar Games continues to support GTA Online with new content and events.

Rockstar Games has maintained GTA Online‘s large player base by ensuring that there is always something waiting for players who log into the game. A recent weekly update for the game added double in-game rewards, plus a $100,000 bonus, for players who complete Mobile Operations Missions. These small but enticing rewards give players a reason to return to GTA Online on a frequent basis. Other updates for the title are more substantial, such as the valuable panther statue recently added to the game’s Cayo Perico heist. The tropical cash grab now allows players to scope out, and attempt to rob, the heavily-guarded art piece to earn a huge reward.

Reddit user TheJDMdriver recently posted a video revealing an inventive new way to enter the Cayo Perico heist. Ingenuity and agility are needed to pull off the daring entrance, as the player climbs onto nearby rooftops and then carefully makes their way across into El Rubio’s compound. The infiltration looks like something out of Assassin’s Creed, providing a relatively safe way to begin the heist.

Alongside GTA Online itself, a large fanbase has formed around a role-playing community that uses the title as a platform. A recent report revealed that FiveM, the client used to run GTA RP, has actually become even more popular than Grand Theft Auto V itself. On April 25 FiveM surpassed 250,000 concurrent players, a remarkable feat, while GTAV has under 80,000. Unfortunately, GTA RP has led to a number of issues and outrages in recent months, mostly due to conflict between Twitch streamers and their viewers. Streamer LadyHope was recently banned from Twitch after receiving a reading aloud hate mail sent by the viewers of fellow streamer xQc. While the issue was resolved and LadyHope’s account was reopened, the event demonstrates the conflicts that occur regularly within the GTA RP community.

GTA Online maintains a large and loyal fanbase years after release, and this can largely be attributed to the continued support of Rockstar Games. There is always something new to discover within the game, whether it be a new in-game reward or TheJDMdriver’s alternate route into El Rubio’s compound. With a ton of content to explore in GTA Online, players are expected to explore and find new ways to play.
