One-year-old girl, 2 adults killed walking on Cony Road in Augusta

AUGUSTA — A one-year-old girl and two Augusta women were killed after being struck by a car on Cony Road Thursday.

Barbara Maxim Hendsbee, 69, and Rosalyn Jean, 62, both of Augusta, and a one-year-old girl whose identity has not been released by police died as a result of a car crash at about 2 p.m. Thursday in the area of 269 Cony Road in Augusta.

The driver has been identified as Robert Santerre, 56, of Chelsea.

Hendsbee retired Dec. 29, 2017, as an outside advertising representative with the Morning Sentinel. She had worked with the company since Nov. 6, 1978.

Augusta Deputy Police Chief Kevin Lully said, in a news release, the Augusta Police Department was still investigating the details of the accident, and the crash has been reconstructed by Maine State Police.

Police are asking anyone who has any information on the crash to contact Augusta Police.

The accident reportedly involved one car that also hit a utility pole.
